We have a fantastic opportunity for an IT Support Officer to join our team at our Head Offices in Abergavenny. Due to the nature of the role, we are open to applications from candidates who live in; or can commute from some of the following areas: Newport, Cardiff, Swansea, Penarth, Barry, Porthcawl, Neath, Usk, Aberdare, Merthyr Tydfil, Llanfoist, Bristol, Chepstow, Pontypridd.

Role Responsibility

Reporting directly to the IT Manager, the IT Support Officer will join our project team.

On a day to day basis, the responsibilities of the IT Support Officer will include the following (not exhaustive):

  • Ensure escalated 1st Line incidents, orders and site requests assigned to them are actioned within a reasonable timeframe and are resolved to a high standard in line with Griffiths operational excellence
  • Work alongside our suppliers to achieve business goals on a day-to-day basis
  • Manage basic changes to Active directory and other systems
  • To manage and deliver project works when needed such as assisting with audits and assisting with the rollout of solutions
  • Undertake site visits for the purposes of IT installs, maintenance and support
  • Completing setups, configurations, administration and maintenance of all IT assets and the asset system
  • Maintaining documentation
  • Maintaining confidentiality in regards to the information being stored, processed or accessed and follow processes in line with team guidance

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be an IT Support Officer who has a strong interest in all things technology and is in receipt of the following:

  • Experience in an IT support capacity with Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office
  • Have a patient manner with users who may not be fully IT literate
  • Willingness and ability to pick up and learn new tasks and skills quickly
  • A strong and confident ability to identify inefficiencies and suggest improvements
